General Questions:

  • The best day of the week to move is Sunday. Less traffic makes for easier transportation, and typically better parking situations.

If Sunday is not an option for you, Tuesday and Wednesday would be the best alternatives. These days yield less moves per usual, which would free up availability for our schedule and loading dock or elevator availability.

  • First thing in the morning is the best time of day to start your move. This allows us to arrive accurately between 8-9am. Which is especially important when reserving elevators and loading docks.

Being a second move of the day allows for more ETA variables. We strive for accurate arrival windows, but when arrival time is a necessity, morning is always the best option.

  • 2-4 weeks in advance is best. This helps us ensure availability and proper planning for estimates and reservations.

We are also happy to accommodate last minute moves when available. As well as same day bookings, at an adjusted rate.

  • At Lionheart we’re capable of moving in all types of weather. Whether its heavy rain, snow fall, or extreme heat, we’ll get the job done.

We always come prepared with moving blankets and plastic wrap. As well as having snow shovels and plastic coverings available when the need arises.

  • To ensure fair compensation for our movers, we always maintain a minimum of two hours invoiced per move.

Any travel time that is involved in the move, will be added to the hours worked, not directly on to the two-hour minimum.

  • Parking permits are the best route for ensuring large parking spots in Philly. We are happy to assist you in finding the correct way to obtain these, but we do not order or install parking permits ourselves.

This is also achievable with two consecutive car lengths, if you have the vehicles on hand.

Our truck is 25 feet long, so a 30 foot parking spot is optimal.

Pricing:

  • We base our pricing on all our jobs on the following criteria:

    • Number of movers and trucks required to complete the job.

    • Accessibility to the truck during moving.

    • Distance between destinations, as well as from our truck lot.

    • Special requirements, or services requested.

  • Currently cash is our preferred currency. We also accept Venmo, Cashapp, and Zelle.

  • To secure an available time slot we require a one-hour deposit, which goes towards your invoice total. With a two-week notice of a move cancelation, your deposit is fully refundable.

  • We sell all single-use materials outside of our hourly rate. We are able to protect large mirrors, pictures, and TVs without you having to pack them.

Every move includes our moving blankets, dollies and straps.

  • We calculate the time getting from our lot to your first address, and back from destination address. This is a flat rate added to the hours of labor.

  • Our standard rate includes three flights of stairs. For moves four stories and above, it is an extra $4 an hour, per mover. This money goes straight to our guys as compensation for their added labor.

  • Yes, as this is a specialized service, this has its own additional Fee. Please notify us of this requirement during booking and we will be happy to organize this for you.

  • Yes, for items over 250lbs, there is a fee of $150 per item. This money does directly to our movers, as compensation for dangerous conditions.

  • We do not provide parking permits as part of our rate. These are attainable through the city of Philadelphia. Our phone support will be more than happy to assist you through this process.

  • Gratuity is always at the discretion of the client, as appreciation for service well done. We do not have include a service charge in our invoice.

  • As per our industry standards, it is common practice for gratuities to be between 15% - 20%.

  • We ask that you give us a two week notice to cancel. This ensures that we are able to keep our schedule full. With a two week notice your deposit will be fully refunded within 5 business days.

  • Yes! We have plenty of experience hoisting couches and over size furniture through windows and porches.

Our weight limit for hoisting by hand is 200lbs. For items heavier than this (like pianos or hot tubs) you would have to hire a crane operator to lift them up.

For help with obtaining permits, we are more than happy to assist you with this process!

Protection:

  • All large non-upholstered furniture will be blanketed. These include dressers, mirrors, pictures, tables, etc.

  • We always offer the option to shrink wrap all upholstered furniture. We sell full rolls at $35. Preferences can be discussed when booking your move.

  • We will always blanket and tape all large mirrors, pictures and TVs. If additional protection is requested, we have boxes available for purchase as well.

  • It is always recommended that all dressers, cabinets and furniture be emptied prior to moving. Leaving these items full can weaken the furniture and cause them to lose integrity when tilted.

  • Anything able to fit inside of a large box should be packed prior to arrival. We offer full packing service as well to make this process seamless. Any items that cannot fit will be wrapped on the day of the move.

  • We offer two large totes each more to help consolidate small miscellaneous items. For things that do not fit in these bins, we cannot guarantee all loose items will be brought to the truck. As it would not only add unnecessary hours to your move but make the packed truck unsafe.

  • Guidelines for packing your own boxes are:

    • Keep things from the same place in the same box.

    • Fragile items should be wrapped in packing paper, or cloth.

    • Small boxes are for books, records, and heavy pieces.

    • Medium boxes for electronics and fragile objects.

    • Larges are best for clothes, blankets and linens.

    • No box should weigh more than 35lbs!

  • Prior to our arrival, it is ideal to ensure the following:

    • Everything that can fit in a box, is in a box.

    • All dresser, cabinets, and furniture are empty.

    • All mounted items are off the wall and ready to move.

    • Ensure all high importance items are safely stored away.
